Numerical / positional superiority
Having more players (numerical) or better-positioned players (positional) in a specific zone.
How it works on the pitch
Numerical: 3 v 2 in build-up, created with the goalkeeper or a dropping midfielder. Positional: occupying the space between two opposing markers so that neither knows who is responsible. Qualitative: placing your best dribbler 1 v 1 against a weaker full-back.
